Our Chairman steps down after ten years

Field Marshal the Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank GCB, LVO, OBE, DL has stepped down as Chairman of the Charity of St John and St Elizabeth after ten years of committed service.

Sir Mark Allen CMG was proposed by Lord Guthrie as his successor and unanimously appointed by the Board of Directors in his place.

Sir Mark, who has been a Trustee since 2009 and is currently Chairman of the Ethics Committee, said “I am honoured to take over from Lord Guthrie who has served the Hospital in the most marvellous way.

“During his time as Chairman, both the medical reputation and the financial position of the Hospital and Hospice have been greatly strengthened. His leadership and commitment have been a key element in this.

“On behalf of everyone, I would like to thank Lord Guthrie for all he has done for the Charity.”
