Consultant Biography
Joannis Constantinides trained in Plastic Surgery in Liverpool, Birmingham and Preston, where he received a comprehensive education in both surgical reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. He sub-specialised in reconstructive microsurgery by completing two fellowships in London (St Thomas’ Hospital) and Taiwan (China University Hospital) and by gaining experience at various microsurgical units in Sweden (Uppsala and Malmo), Belgium (Gent), Canada (Winnipeg) and the US (MD Anderson).
His clinical practice encompasses several aspects of reconstructive microsurgery and cosmetic surgery. His main subspecialist areas of expertise are in breast reconstruction, abdominal wall and perineal/pelvic reconstruction and surgery for lymphoedema. He has extensive experience in cosmetic surgery of the breast, torso and limbs including surgery following weight loss, as well as in non-surgical rejuvenation techniques.
Joannis supervises microsurgery fellows at St Thomas’ Hospital and registrars at St Mark’s and is regularly involved in clinical research.
