Mr Ashish Rohatgi is an Upper Gastrointestinal and General Laparoscopic Surgeon. He currently work at Whipps Cross Hospital and as a resectional surgeon at University College London Hospital ( UCLH). He has been an Upper GI consultant for 6 years following completion of my specialist registrar training and subsequent fellowship in the South East Thames Region.
Mr Ashish Rohatgi has been involved in Upper Gastrointestinal disorders at a consultant level for the last 6 years. His specialist training was at 2 major oesophagogastric cancer units in the South East of England; there he obtained a broad training in the diagnosis, management and postoperative care of both benign and malignant upper GI diseases. Mr Ashish Rohatgi has been exposed to all types of resections for oesophagogastric cancer.
Furthermore Mr Ashish Rohatgi gained experience in complex benign and oesophageal reconstructive surgery. He has also had the opportunity to manage and operate on acute gastro-oesophageal emergencies such as perforations and complex ulcerations.
Apart from his speciality interest, Mr Ashish Rohatgi has performed a whole range of General Surgery operations both electively and on an emergent basis. This includes hernias, lumps and bumps, appendicectomies and any other acute abdominal surgery. He has a keen interest in audit and research, having presented numerous presentations internationally, nationally and regionally.
