Mr Andrew Ballaro trained in centers of excellence predominantly in London. He is highly experienced in all aspects of adult general urology and has particular expertise in the management of kidney stones. He set up and leads a high quality stone service at one of the busiest NHS Trusts in London and performs both standard PCNL and the new minimally invasive mini and ultra-mini PCNL procedures on a weekly basis. As a result of this high volume he is able to consistently publish some of the best surgical outcomes for complex minimally invasive stone surgery in the country.
Mr Ballaro teaches London Deanery trainee urologists at all levels and has published widely in the fields of minimally invasive urological surgery and basic science. He was awarded a Hunterian Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England for his research into bladder problems and is co-author of the latest edition of the standard medical student textbook ‘Lecture Notes in Urology’.
