Mr Andrew Ballaro is a senior full time NHS and private Consultant Urological Surgeon and is highly experienced in the management of all general urological problems. He has specialist interests in the management of kidney stones, surgery for the enlarged prostate and prostate cancer diagnosis.
In his practice Mr Ballaro performs high numbers of laser and percutaneous minimally invasive procedures for kidney stones and consistently publishes some of the best surgical outcomes for complex stone removal in the UK.
He offers a choice of procedures for benign prostatic enlargement including standard prostate resection (TURP), Holmium Laser Prostatectomy (HoLEP) and REZUM steam ablation therapy tailored to patient requirements and is experienced at laser surgery for very large prostates. He also offers trans perineal MRI fusion prostate biopsies for the most accurate diagnosis of prostate cancer in patients with raised PSA, and impartial advice and access to an expert tertiary referral base for prostate cancer treatment.
Mr Ballaro trained in London and teaches London deanery trainee urologists at all levels. He runs a highly regarded service with easy access to results and further advice after consultation, and was awarded iwantgreatcare certificates of excellence in 2018 and 2019 based on patient reviews.
He has published widely in the fields of minimally invasive surgery and bladder physiology and is co-author of the latest edition of the standard medical student textbook ‘Lecture Notes in Urology’.
