Pathology

I have just spent several days under the care of St John and St Elizabeth following surgery and wanted to thank all staff for the care and attention I received during that time, I cannot praise the nurses enough but gratitude must also go to the Haematology Dept.

The Department of Pathology is a well equipped modern facility located on the first floor of Loretta cottage adjacent to the Hospital Theatres. It provides a comprehensive diagnostic service to all areas of the Hospital and to Consultants and GP’s, in London and the South East of England.
Each specialty within Pathology is consultant led and Clinical advice and interpretation is available at all times. This can be arranged through the Client Services Coordinator, (0207 806 4022).

The Pathology Department has full unconditional CPA accreditation.

  • The Laboratory provides a 24hr service .
  • Most routine test results are available the same day.
  • The Department operates a walk-in service for all routine blood tests, and self referrals for a limited range of tests.
  • Appointments are only necessary for specialised investigations.
  • The Phlebotomy Department is located next to the main Hospital reception, and is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm and Saturdays, 9am to 1pm.
  • Domiciliary/home visits can also be arranged. This service is provided for patients who may find travel difficult, and can also save time before a consultant appointment.

Personalised, (special price), profiles can be arranged to suit the individual Client, (Consultant, GP, alternative therapists, Clinic’s etc). Please call the Pathology Services Manager on 020 7806 4022.
