The doctors nurses and physiotherapists on St Elizabeth’s ward were wonderful. Everyone seemed so happy, including me.
We have a number of specialists who specialise in conditions affecting the Hip, ranging from sports injuries through to fractures and we are one of the few hospitals offering hip arthroscopy. This service is available for people from 3yrs to 103yrs.
The Hip Unit provides outpatient treatment and inpatient care by specialist in the treatment of hip disorders. This is a multidisciplinary team approach to diagnosis and treatment for children and adults with expert musculoskeletal radiologists working with surgeons, physicians and our highly acclaimed physiotherapy team to provide the highest possible standards of care.
Inpatients are cared for in a dedicated orthopaedic unit with orthopaedic trained nurses. In so many cases orthopaedic surgeons are training to focus on one particular part of the body, hence our development of other successful services such as the Foot and Ankle Unit and the Shoulder Unit. The Hip Unit is the latest in our specialisation that aims to ensure our patients receive the very best care possible.
