Vascular Ultrasound Scanning
Based in the Imaging Department, our Vascular Service is delivered by an experienced team of specialised vascular technicians. The use of vascular ultrasound provides a non invasive assessment of suspected vascular conditions. In addition, vascular ultrasound can be used for abdominal aortic aneurysm screening and carotid artery screening for those patients at risk from stroke.
Indications for investigation include:
- Varicose Veins
- Leg Ulceration
- Leg swelling, calf pain
- Suspected Deep Vein Thrombosis
- Intermittent Claudication
- Limb Ischaemia
- TIA / Stroke
- Carotid Artery Disease
- Aortic Aneurysm
- Arterial Graft Surveillance
The report produced by the Vascular Technicians aids the referring Doctor or Surgeon in providing more accurate and definitive treatment.
Referrals & Appointments
In order to proceed with a booking, patients must have a signed request form from either their GP or a consultant. Short notice appointments are often available.
